Commercial Director – B2B Media Sales

Our client is an early-stage business developing the next evolutionary step in bringing products to life for brands and customers. Due to continued growth, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Director to join them. This innovative business uses a mix of theatre, workshops, and expert advice to show how technology and innovative brands can help their visitors lead better lives, every day – it’s a powerful mix. Their first launch venue will be in September in London.

This role would suit someone who has a strong background in B2B media sales (Press, TV, Radio, Out of Home advertising, etc) and will probably have operated as a Commercial Director, Trading Director or Sales Director in this environment.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will have overall responsibility for the maintenance and growth of our client’s brand (customer) partners – to include;

  • Building their customer (brand partner) client growth objectives, strategy and direction
  • Responsibility for maintaining and growing key customer relationships
  • Working closely with the CRO on all pricing models
  • Proficient closer of high value deals / excellent trading skillset
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target areas/markets
  • Representing the business at trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences
  • Play a key part in driving the overall culture, strategy and direction of the business
  • Development of CRM system
  • Enablement of solid team communication – to all staff and stakeholders
  • Accurate sales forecasting and reporting
  • Management of a team of account managers as the business grows

Key experience requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial, Trading or Sales Director within a start-up or SME accelerated pace environment
  • Strong background in B2B media sales (Press, TV, Radio, Out of Home advertising, etc)
  • Experience building organisations and hiring and training top talent
  • Very strong Enterprise selling experience, with good experience of Sales Management
  • Demonstrable capability of creating and delivering strategy
  • Built successful teams and has generated performance through culture and management
  • Proven track record of over-achieving quota in past opportunities
  • Previous Sales Methodology training
  • An understanding of our clients customer and their issues within their sales Channels (i.e. brands dealing with retail)
  • Successful start-up experience with contributions to growth through acquisition or IPO is desired
