QA Team Lead – Fintech

The client is an award-winning and rapidly growing company whose mission is to empower the delivery of financial services to the underserved and unbanked. Our client addresses this issue through the provision of it’s cloud banking software for those marginalised and excluded financial institutions that are ready to scale up to serve mass markets of underserved clients.  Their flagship SaaS solution, enables financial institutions to know and control their portfolios, so that they can transform inefficiencies into operational excellence, limited data into informed decision-making, and stagnancy into growth.
The client is headquartered in Zagreb (Croatia) with offices in London, Lagos (Nigeria), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Manila (Philippines). Its long list of awards in the fintech and microfinance industries.

The client is looking for a QA Team Lead to join their team in Zagreb. The QA department currently comprises of 5 Analysts and a senior QA analayst/engineer who works exclusively on automated testing tooling. As Head of the QA team you will need to communicate with other team leads on a daily basis and assist them in realizing their milestones by the allocation of resources in a effective manner.

  • Take a leadership role to encourage other team members and ensure knowledge sharing
  • Be responsible for QA teams’ estimates, output and deadlines; manage team members and hold them accountable
  • Attend status meetings and coordinate work with other departments
  • Participate in the recruitment processes
  • Define and enforce best practices for the QA team
  • Pro-actively identify new technologies and make decisions on platforms/technology  for consideration within the company
  • Research or create tools and frameworks for improving Analyst efficiency


  • Senior QA experience in both Analyst and Engineer roles is a must.
  • Highly desirable to have prior experience working on SaaS product(s), understanding  globalisation/i18n  concerns.
  • Experience in growing and developing a team, as the client needs to grow exponentially every year, so the team will scale up at the same time.
  • Essential to have a strong command of the English language; the client is an International company with English as the common language
  • Someone who is charismatic not afraid of speaking at conferences and meetups helping to attract further talent into the business
  • Minimum of 3 -5 years’ work experience, with at least 2 working in a similar role at this level.


  • Selenium or equivalent  automated testing toolkit
  • Git or equivalent DVCS (distributed version control system)
  • Basic database competence for whitebox testing / helping with diagnosing issues
  • Some relevant programming experience required (for guiding and/or understanding the work of the QA engineers)
  • Working knowledge of SaaS products/ core banking products is highly desirable
