The Company
Our Client is an economic and financial policy consulting business. Its staff advise both private and public-sector clients on issues where economics, finance and public policy overlap. The company was established in 2001 and employs approximately 30 staff, but with plans to grow to around 50 staff in time. The company’s principal office is in London although it works with clients both domestically and internationally and has recently opened a second office in Sydney, Australia. In addition to serving its clients, the organisation engages and contributes to ongoing policy-focused debate at seminars and conferences. As part of its expansion plans the Company is seeking to appoint a Marketing Manager to enhance their impact in the marketplace. This is a new role.
The Role
The role involves helping the Company to present its content in the most favourable way, including reaching audiences that have not been reached to date. They are looking for creativity but within a consultancy / professional services environment
Specific aspects of role:
Assistance in development of different marketing strategies for different industry sectors
Active management of website and updates
Development of ‘pitch packs’
Editorial on ‘at the margin’ (a Company publication)
Placing thought pieces in general and industry press
Creative input into presentation of written bids
Policing and / or enforcement of company style
Arranging alumni events
Competitor monitoring
Knowledge management
Support in general office management
Candidate Profile
7 years+ marketing experience with a minimum of 3 years at manager level
Experience and understanding of a professional services business
Self-starter and manager who is comfortable advising, supporting and (where necessary) challenging the senior team
Ability to work effectively in a small business environment
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
