Our Client is a manufacturing company that is part of a large international engineering and manufacturing group. The company has less than 100 staff and £15 million turnover and is considering moving the manufacturing plant from Belgium to another larger location in Europe and need to recruit an Interim Manager to lead the project.
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 -12 Months
Key Tasks:
- Take operational leadership and ensure that operational excellence is achieved
- Drive operational effeciencies / lean manufacturing techniques with a “hands on” approach
- Create and drive the possible closure plan including pre and post announcements and negotiations with Unions
- Support the management team with Union negotiations
- Create the skills and knowledge transfer plan
- Create and manage a risk profile for the assignment
- Work closely with both the local management and with the parent company’s experts
- Be aware of sensitivities regarding the Unions / Works Council.
Candidate Profile:
- Experienced interim manufacturing manager
- Track record of relocating manufacturing
- Experience of closing a plant in Belgium
- Experience of developing and executing a transfer plan.
- Experience of working with Unions / Works Councils.
- Fluent in French and English
- Lean manufacturing experience including TPM and flow
