Interim Manufacturing Relocation Manager

Our Client is a manufacturing company that is part of a large international engineering and manufacturing group.  The company has less than 100 staff and £15 million turnover and is considering moving the manufacturing plant from Belgium to another larger location in Europe and need to recruit an Interim Manager to lead the project.

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 -12 Months

Key Tasks:

  • Take operational leadership and ensure that operational excellence is achieved
  • Drive operational effeciencies / lean manufacturing techniques with a “hands on” approach
  • Create and drive the possible closure plan including pre and post announcements and negotiations with Unions
  • Support the management team with Union negotiations
  • Create the skills and knowledge transfer plan
  • Create and manage a risk profile for the assignment
  • Work closely with both the local management and with the parent company’s experts
  • Be aware of sensitivities regarding the Unions / Works Council.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced interim manufacturing manager
  • Track record of relocating manufacturing
  • Experience of closing a plant in Belgium
  • Experience of developing and executing a transfer plan.
  • Experience of working with Unions / Works Councils.
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Lean manufacturing experience including TPM and flow
