Interim Global Head of IT

Our client, a PE backed learning, solutions and digital technology group with circa 300 employees are looking for an experienced IT professional to help them through a period of significant transition following merger activity, to identify future structure and to facilitate moving to the cloud.

Guide duration: 4 months – commencing January 2021

Key Deliverables
• Mobilise rapidly to both accelerate and de-risk transition from as-is IT function (legacy structure) to globally integrated, efficient and effective IT function
• Work with two existing IT team members (based in Norway) to ensure their retention and alignment with a new of working to achieve the desired IT operating model
• Quickly assess and restructure legacy portfolio by:
o Dismantling a Norway-based IT function so that IT can be managed/serviced from anywhere in the world
o Moving all IT infrastructure to the cloud
o Enabling an understandable, well-documented IT architecture and operation
o Identifying and addressing IT-origin infosec and cyber security risks
• Prepare roadmap to manage and optimize:
o BAU IT infrastructure (all networks, data centers (move to cloud) systems (including ERP, CRM, Sportal, Bamboo) and all endpoints
o IT side of information security and cyber security in conjunction with Information Security Director
o Cost efficient service model for endpoint support across the entire global enterprise
• Partner with key stakeholders including Information Security Director and Chief Product Officer

Person Profile
• Accomplished interim IT professional with vast relevant experience of:
o mapping out legacy architecture and identifying risks / opportunities
o migrating IT infrastructure to the cloud
• Self-sufficient, comfortable operating with limited people resource (team of two) and able to be ‘hands-on’, reflecting a delivery mindset
• Well-versed with the nuances of multi-cultural, geographically dispersed teams – previous experience working with Norwegian IT colleagues beneficial; in any event, knowing how to influence and get the best from people
• Private Equity experience perhaps including post-merger system integration knowledge would be valuable
• Open to sector background but will certainly be accomplished delivering IT change for SMEs rather than large corporations with vast IT teams
