Interim Finance Director – Retail/FMCG

Due to ongoing growth in both the UK and International markets, we are currently helping our Client who are a global FMCG company to find an Interim FD. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast moving, high growth FMCG organisation who are expanding on a global basis.

Our Client has a number of strategic growth plans in place and is looking for an Interim FD who has previous experience of working in fast moving, high growth Retail/FMCG businesses.

Job Summary:

  • Cash flow management – accurate forecasting, short, medium and long term with appropriate treasury management.
  • Production of accurate and timely Management Accounts.
  • Annual audit management. Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, annual report and accounts;
  • Providing sound financial advice to the board and other senior management colleagues;
  • Act as the leading interface between the Company its professional advisers and financial and regulatory bodies;
  • Fulfil the role of Company Secretary
  • Act as a finance business partner to the MD and support the SMT with ad hoc accounting projects

Key responsibilities:

  • Cash flow management – short, medium and long term forecasting.
  • Cash treasury – management of company cash.
    Security and risk management – minimise any opportunity for fraud within the group – either accounting or cash.
  • Key stakeholder management – Credit Insurance, HSBC, FX, Insurance etc.  Drive positive growing relationship with these partners.
  • Board and business support.
  • Add value to the MD and business by getting underneath the financial numbers and forecasts.
  • Deliver to MD and business suggestions on the numbers of how loss/lower profit streams can be minimised and profit enhancers can be maximised.
  • Annual audit management. Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, annual report and accounts;
  • Plan and manage the company’s tax liabilities. Evaluate the tax liability impact of contemplated courses of action, minimise the tax burden and deal with tax authorities;
  • Manage the finance teams across the whole business to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Accountanct (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong Retail / FMCG sector experience gained in a SME / high growth environment
  • Commercially aware
  • Excellent presentations skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fun and fast moving environment
  • Excellent people management abilities and influencing skills
