Interim Chief Financial Officer – Insurance sector

Our client is an ambitious, fast growing, and well-funded, early-stage insurance company with a technology lead approach that is being very well received in the market.   Currently they have approx. 200 staff in the UK and overseas with a £5 million turnover.  The current CFO is leaving shortly hence an interim is required while the search for a new permanent CFO continues.  Main Responsibilities of the Role:

• Rapidly review the current situation and identify any key issues that need fixing• Manage the ERP project that has been started• Coordinate all financial and regulatory reports ensuring quality control and that they are produced in a timely and efficient manner • Planning and oversight for month-, quarter- and year-end close• Manage and monitor all UK indirect tax returns, and co-ordinate corporate tax returns• Drive process efficiency in accounting practices• Monitor balance sheet integrity through regular review and testing• Drive improvements to the control framework surrounding financial and regulatory reporting

Candidate profile: 

• Experienced and qualified Interim CFO• Insurance sector experience.• Experience of completion of Statutory Accounts including group consolidation.• Knowledge of Solvency II reporting• IFRS and UK GAAP reporting knowledge• Experience of working in a controlled and deadline-driven environment.• Strong management and communication skills, with experience of leading teams• Immediately available and UK resident.
