Transforming a Telecom Giant’s Talent Management

The Challenge

Already employing more than 56,000 people in 14 countries, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies needed to recruit senior executives from across the globe, as part of its major corporate transformation programme, so it asked Norrie Johnston Recruitment to help.

The Solution

Our Talent Management team firstly reviewed the company’s recruitment processes and supporting IT to help speed up recruitment and make it more effective. This fast-track review and the implementation of some key changes quickly led to significant improvements.

Still the workload on the telecom giant’s internal recruitment team was considerable, so NJR then seconded a recruiter to help the in-house team.

To further boost the process NJR was then appointed as a preferred supplier for permanent recruitment – successfully handling a wide range of senior corporate, commercial, finance and technology senior placements, in locations as diverse as Netherlands, Ukraine, Algeria and Bangladesh.

As a result, the company’s internal team is supported and its global recruitment process has improved – with time taken to fill roles down and cost per hire reduced.  It has a formalised strategy and external team in place, delivering senior executives to the business, anywhere in the world, as and when they’re needed.
